This post has been updated for 2017. Click here for Fresh Turkeys in Bucks – 2017.
Halloween is over. You know what time it is now. Thanksgiving time! I’m already getting lots of hits (reads) of my posts from last year on where to get a local turkey (or where to go out to eat on Thanksgiving). Here’s an update for 2010 on where you can get fresh, natural turkeys in Bucks County. Not all are raised here (some come from Lancaster County), but they are all fresh and can be picked up just before Thanksgiving. And don’t dilly-dally. Some of these producers/vendors may already be sold out!
This is an alphabetical list of markets, farms and producers where you can get the birds, along with key information. I apologize if I have omitted a good source. Be sure to let me know, and I’ll add them to the list. Also, keep Christmas in mind too, since most of these suppliers also have turkeys (and ducks) for the December holidays.

Pick-up is at the store the Tuesday or Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Cash or personal checks only. Here are some tips from their website: Historically, our small parking lot can get so full between 10am and 2pm that it is sometimes almost impossible to get in. Well before or well after these times are best. Want to get in and out? Come between 8:00am – 9:30am or the last hour we are open, especially Tuesday. YOUR TURKEY MUST BE ORDERED AHEAD and will be waiting for you!

ahappyfarm@yahoo.com
Raised outside on pasture, fed synthetic-free, genetically-modified (GMO) grain-free, grain and roasted soy, with natural supplements and probiotics. No synthetic fertilizers or pesticides used on the farm. No antibiotics or hormones fed. Birds will probably weigh 10 – 25+ lbs. this year, says Tom, noting that they will take a weight range preference and match it as closely as possible, but since they butcher fresh for Thanksgiving the final weights are a bit hard to control. Price: $3.75/lb. (fresh, pick-up a few days before Thanksgiving) or $3.50/lb. (frozen, pick-up from mid-October through T’giving), orders with a $25 deposit. Still have availability, but probably will sell out by mid November. Pick up is at the Happy Farm in Kintersville on the Saturday, Sunday, or Monday before Thanksgiving. The Happy Farm also raises ducks, so keep that in mind for Christmas and New Year’s too.
