The big news this weekend is the Lambertville-New Hope Winter Festival, or as it’s known locally, Winterfest. Appropriately we’ll be getting some snow tonight to make it a real winter fest! While the Chili Cook-Off on Sunday is sold out, the Beef n’ Brew on Saturday still has tickets. There is also a Pancake Breakfast at New Hope-Solebury High School on Sunday morning. Tickets can be purchased online here. Of course, there are lots of other (non-food) activities like concerts, ice sculptures, a parade, and hikes and tours. Fisherman’s Mark, a food pantry in Lambertville, will be the recipient of food drives and cash donations. For more information on Winterfest see their website.
Come out on Sunday to Jules Thin Crust Pizza in Doylestown for a fundraiser for the Doylestown Food Co-op. All you have to do is buy and eat some pizza. Mention you are a Co-op supporter and Jules will donate 10% of your purchase to the Doylestown Food Co-op. The Co-op is working towards creating a brick-and-mortar store, filled with locally produced food. Learn more about the co-op here. The event begins at 4 pm.
Italian cooking seems to be a theme this week at three area events. The Vintage Grille in Fountainville is hosting a Piedmont & Northern Italian Wine Dinner this Monday evening. Four courses, including wine, for $55 per person. Casa Casale in Lahaska is holding a class about Northern Italian cooking too, on Thursday evening. “Italian Flair” will be the theme at the Cooking Cottage in Sellersville, also a class and also on Thursday evening.
