1Goodbye ice cream, hello pastries

Yelp Review, by Gerald S.
Savory and sweet: One Yelp reviewer (Gerald S.) snapped some pictures of the cafe’s delectable pastries and treats.

The former Sweet Pea Ice Cream shop at the Goodnoe Corner shopping center in Newtown Township is no more (sadly), but the good news is a French cafe opened in early December in the same location. Welcome Papillon Cafe.

It marks the fourth French cafe for owner Rabbi Michel Abitbol, who went to culinary school in Paris after moving from Southern Morocco. He eventually moved to New York and now lives in Huntingdon Valley.

Here’s what to expect from the cafe: It’s kosher (certified by International Kosher Council) and organic, features croissants and crepes, along with paninis and salads and homemade coffee. According to their Facebook page,  they plan to hold Shabbat dinners at the cafe twice a month, with themes like French Shabbat or Sephardic Shabbat.
