champagne-750x400

New Year’s. Don’t want to cook for New Year’s Eve tonight? Would you rather treat yourself to a prix fixe meal with complimentary champagne? We’ve gathered a list of as many Bucks County and Hunterdon County restaurants as we could find that will be open to ring in the new year. Most of them also have a special New Year’s brunch the next day. Find out who’s open for New Year’s here. Mimosas, anyone?

An annual tradition. Slate Bleu’s 9th Annual New Year’s Choucrute Dinner includes boudin blanc (white sausage), saucisson, frankfurters and and other pork charcuterie, which will be served table side, accompanied by braised sauerkraut and potatoes. The dinner will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 2 through the 4.

Brick Farm Market has a new lineup of Cheese Classes, starting this Tuesday, January 6 at 7:30 pm, with “All About Sheep.”  The title of the class reveals that you’ll be tasting all types of sheep cheeses: sharp, mild and blue cheeses. The class will be led by Michel Lemmerling, Brick Farm Market’s Chevalier du Taste Fromage. Guests are welcome to bring their own wine or beer to accompany the cheese and Michel will post his recommended pairing for the event ahead of time.

Fresh as you can get. The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance is hosting their Annual Meeting and Potluck Dinner next Wednesday, January 7 at 6:30 pm. The topic this year is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). If you want to know what Community Supported Agriculture is, why you should consider it, and who offers it in the area, this meeting is for you. Bring a dish to share! To market, to market. The Wrightstown Winter Market takes place on the second and fourth Saturday of every month through April. The New Hope Indoor Farmers Market happens Thursdays throughout the winter season at the Event Center by Cornerstone (formerly the Eagle Fire Hall) and the Princeton Winter Market occurs once monthly (next date: January 15). In Flemington, the Hunterdon Land Trust’s Winter Farmers’ Market returns Sunday, January 18 from 11 am to 1 pm with 14 farmers and vendors. It takes place at the Dvoor Farm, off the Route 12 circle. The market will be held the third Sunday of every month. The Stockton Farmers Market, the Stangl Factory Farmers Market and the Quakertown Farmers Market are open year round.
