Cross the finish line to support local food and farmers this Saturday, September 3, right through Delaware Valley University‘s scenic campus.
The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance and the Bucks County chapter of Buy Fresh Buy Local® will host their 2nd Annual Bucks County Foodshed 5K and 1-mile Fun Run. All proceeds benefit BCFA, an organization dedicated to building a strong and local food system in our community.
The course runs through comfortable terrain entirely within DVU’s rural campus — no public roads and no rough or grass paths. The campus has scenic views, everything from the working campus farms to the arboretum is enough to keep a runner motivated and moving forward.
DVU offers free parking on the main campus and runners can use the indoor toilet facilities in the Life Sciences building if needed. Runners will also be served refreshments.
The event is rain or shine but I wouldn’t worry: forecast for Saturday is currently a high of 81°F, sunny with 5-10 mph winds. Perfect running and walking weather. Register online here through September 3. The race is $30 and a nominal service fee applies. No refunds can be issued.
