It’s time to celebrate America’s birthday! BBQs. Picnics. Fireworks. Even boozy brunch! And don’t forget farmers markets and all their summer produce glory. This weekend is packed with foodie events for the Fourth of July, check them out below!
Events are listed in chronological order
1. Lower Makefield Farmers Market
Thursday, June 29, 3:30 – 6:30 pm, Veterans Square Park, Edgewood Rd. at Heacock Rd., PA
Head to the Lower Makefield Farmers Market for some tasty early June produce and some fun summer events. There will be a pretzel sale this week to benefit the Penndel Food Pantry, and vendors will have lettuce, Swiss chard, kale, gluten-free baked goods, olive oils, and more. If you wear your best patriotic outfit, you have the chance to win prizes and enter a parade around the market (for the kids).
This week at area farmers markets you’ll find the following new, locally grown produce:
raspberries, sweet cherries and maybe early blueberries! Also available now are summer squash, cucumbers, beets, turnips, cabbage, radishes and lots of greens.

Andalé Latino Grill is celebrating its one-year anniversary by offering guests “Plátano A La Gloria” desserts to all throughout lunch and dinner service on Saturday, July 1. This sweet treat consists of sugary-sweet plantains topped with chocolate, made with corn flour, and served with caramel, cinnamon and a house-made whipped cream.
In the mood for something savory too? Andalé Latino Grill’s menu features menu items inspired by 21 Spanish-speaking countries: burritos, burrito bowls, arepas and empanadas, and side dishes, including fried green plantain chips with guacamole, sweet plantains, tortillas chips & Aji sauce, and yuca & chimichurri sauce.
3. Concert Under the Stars
Saturday, July 1, 6 – 9 pm, Tinicum Park, River Road, PA
Say happy birthday to America with an evening of light, classical, popular, and patriotic music and a grand fireworks finale under the stars along the banks of the beautiful Delaware River. This is a major picnic opportunity. People get to the park early and lay out some pretty impressive spreads. A friend of mine once referred to it as “competitive picnicing.” Not to worry. Just bring some good food and snacks and hang out with friends and family.
Gates open at 6 pm, concert starts at 8 pm. It’s $25 at the gate, students ages seven to 18 cost $10, and children six and under are free. Tickets can be purchased here.
4. Bottomless Brunch
Sunday, July 1, Food & Brews Restaurant at Ramada, 6201 Bristol Pike, Levittown, PA
Check this deal out: Sundays from 11:30 am – 3 pm you get any burger, make your own waffles, and bottomless mimosas for $25 for two hours. If you book in advance, you pay $20. 5. Freedom Feast BBQ

Celebrate the holiday with another delicious BBQ at the Lumberville General Store. What’s on the menu?
