It’s good to live in a beautiful place that attracts folks from all over. It’s even better to get in on some “local” deals. These restaurants love their locals by offering special prix fixe dinners during the week. It’s a great opportunity to experience that restaurant you’ve been meaning to try—at a great price.
In Bucks County
Karla’s, of course, has the longest standing Locals Night. On Mondays, from 5 pm – 10 pm, they offer a three-course menu from $12 – $19 pp (depending on the entrée), including a choice of the soup du jour or house salad, coffee and dessert. Fish, meat, a vegetarian dish, and their famous Fried Chicken and Mac n’Cheese are always on the menu. See their website for a sample menu. Karla’s is in New Hope at 5 West Mechanic St.
Just up the street from Karla’s, Cafe Blue Moose has Neighbors’ Night every Wednesday from 5 pm – 9 pm. The $22 three-course menu changes each week to reflect the freshest ingredients available locally. Chef Skylar Bird started this youth-run restaurant in his parents’ home seven years ago when he was just a teenager. Three years ago he moved into a lovely space on West Mechanic Street and has been packing the place ever since with his fresh, creative dishes and good prices. (Read our previous post, The kids are all right.) You can also get a great hamburger made with grass-fed beef for $10 accompanied by the house, hand-cut fries, or choose from the regular menu. Cafe Blue Moose is in New Hope at 9 West Mechanic St. BYOB.
