3 things you gotta do in Bucks this weekend (July 17-19)

Open Hearth

1. Friday Night UnWined Concert Series in FESTIVAL FIELD!

6 pm to 9 pm on Friday, July 17 at Shady Brook Farm, 931 Stony Hill Road, Morrisville, PA

Rose Bank Winery

We’ve already listed the Friday Night UnWined Series as a “thing you’ve gotta do” this season, but this occasion is different. The usual evenings take place on their patio and include wine tasting, live music and picnic fare, but this concert is moving to Festival Field ate Shady Brook Farm. More space, and tons of fun for the kids this Friday, including inflatable attractions, jumping pillows, Bears playground, a Trike Track, and the all new “Lil’ Bouncing Broncos.” No need to hire a babysitter! Sample some wine to the sounds of the Eric Mintel Quartet will the kids run around as much as their little hearts desire.

2. Firehouse Breakfasts

Sunday, July 19 at various times and locations, listed below

Breakfast

Yes, yes, it seems like every other week we’re talking about breakfast at a firehouse! But that’s because we love firehouse breakfasts…. and supporting volunteer firemen-and-women while simultaneously eating a gigantic stack of pancakes drowning in maple syrup. Win/win.

  •  Breakfast – Riegelsville Fire Company, 333 Delaware Road, Riegelsville, PA [8 am – 12:30 pm]
  • Breakfast – Silverdale Fire Co, 111 Main Street, Silverdale, PA [8 am – 1 pm]

3. Historical Open Hearth Cooking

1 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, July 19 at Pennsbury Manor, 400 Pennsbury Memorial Rd, Morrisville, PA

Open Hearth

This one’s a great family activity (well, really, so are the others), or great for history buffs! Take a step back in time at the historic Pennsbury Manor, where you can see how settlers centuries ago went about preserving the summer bounty, all over an open hearth! Stoneware crocks, bladders, vinegar, and sugar will abound. Buy your tickets at the door.

Have a great weekend!
