Welcome Stockton Market!

Update: Many improvements have been made at the market over the past few months so take note of notes within this article that highlight those changes.

There’s a new market in town!

The Stockton Market happens every weekend and includes many of the vendors you’ve come to know and love at area farmers’ markets. The difference? A cozy indoor venue.

As soon as we walked in last Sunday, from a sunny but cold day, The Coffee Scoop’s coffee urns welcomed us with their warmth and lovely smell (good placement!). The market is mostly food vendors, with crafts, gifts and other products mixed in. Fresh baked goods, artisanal cheeses, free-range, pastured meats, fresh fish, vegetables, coffee, eggs and even ice cream greeted us as we wound our way through the space.

The market began at the end of last November and is going strong, adding vendors and with talk of expanding into another room, says Peter Errico, who owns the space (formerly Errico’s Market) and Riverbank Arts gallery right next door [Note: Riverbank Arts will be closing soon]. As we chatted with the vendors, they were pleased with the traffic and excited about offering their products in an area not as well served by fresh, local food. Dawn McBeth, owner of Ambrosia (great baked goods), oversees the market [see her contact info below].

Here’s a list of the vendors. [Note: See the market’s website for all of the current vendors.] The market is open every Friday (3 – 7 pm), Saturday (9 am – 4 pm) and Sunday (10 am – 4 pm). This list of vendors is subject to change.

  1. Absolutely one of the best markets I have seen in our area. One recent Sunday I wandered through the market and took home a feast of amazing Bobolink cheeses, crisp apples from the Milk House Farm Market, out of this world bread from Rise polished off by biscotti from Ambrosia and amazing chocolate from The Painted Truffle. Yum!!! Looking forward to going back again and again.

  2. […] Let’s not forget the great year-round farmers’ markets in Bucks. None Such Farm Market in Buckingham provides meats, cheeses, baked goods, grocery items, plants, and fresh produce from their farm across the street. Shady Brook Farm in Yardley, and at The Market at Delaware Valley College, also offer a wide variety of foods, in addition to fruit and produce from their farm and from the college. The indoor Newtown Farmers’ Market has been a mainstay in Newtown for years, with a diverse group of vendors from Amish, to Middle Eastern, to Asian and Mexican. In Ivyland, Tanners Bros. Dairy Market offers their own meat and dairy products (and ice cream!), and nicely priced produce. Carroll’s Seafood & Produce in Plumsteadville carries produce, milk, and a good selection of fish. Likewise, Bolton’s in Silverdale. In addition to local produce, you can get their fresh, hormone-free, antibiotic-free poultry year-round, raised on their farm adjacent to the store. And as you wind your way up Route 611, stop in at Trauger’s in Kintersville. They carry a huge variety of fruit and vegetables from their 9th generation-owned farm. The most recent year-round indoor market to open is the Stockton Farmers’ Market, open on Saturdays and Sundays in Stockton, NJ. [See our post on the Stockton Market here.] […]
