Rain, rain go away…in time for a beautiful autumn weekend.
Wines, ham dinners, beer and fall festivals – we got ’em. Unionville Vineyards in nearby Ringoes, New Jersey will be holding their 13th Annual Harvest Festival this weekend full of food, music and, of course, wine. The 5th Annual BrewFest will also be taking place on Saturday. Or catch a church ham supper in Lambertville, or a firehouse breakfast in Perkasie, Riegelsville or Plumsteadville. If you do go to the breakfast in Riegelsville, stop by Trauger’s Farm Market in Kintersville afterwards for their annual Octoberfest (also taking place on Saturday). It will be beautiful weather for a nice drive.
To market, to market. Broccoli, greens, potatoes, onions, garlic, winter squash, beets, radishes, apples – that and more is still growing locally, fresh from our local farms. And pumpkins, of course. Most of the outdoor farmers’ markets will be running through the end of October, some until the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Take a class. We’re fortunate in Bucks County to have many local cooking classes, spread pretty evenly across the county. Check the Bucks County Taste food calendar in the coming weeks to find one that interests you and sign up as soon as possible. Space is limited, and they do fill up.
