Gearing up for the big Turkey Day! There are lots of things going on this weekend and into the holiday week ahead. And if you’re still not sure what you’re doing for the holiday, consider going out to one of our great local restaurants. Here’s a list of who is preparing Thanksgiving dinners.
Wine, wine, wine. Unionville Vineyards celebrates their Rhone Release this weekend and Crossing Vineyards brings out their 2012 Le Nouveau, a young Red traditional for this time of year. Old York Cellars will have another one of their Wine & Food Series on Sunday, this one with Chef Mark Miller of Hamilton’s Grill Room in Lambertville. The specially designed menu will feature Chef Miller’s take on a Thanksgiving dinner with each course paired with a different wine. For more information and reservations see their website.
To market, to market. This Saturday will be the last of the regular season for the Doylestown and Wrightstown Farmers’ Markets but…the Wrightstown Farmers’ Market will be holding “mini-markets” during the winter on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month through April. Sign up for their email list to get notification of which vendors will be at each market (pre-ordering is strongly suggested). There is still lots to find at area farm markets: apples, potatoes, garlic, leeks, broccoli, cabbages, celery root, beets, turnips, lettuces, chard, collards, kale varieties, radishes, parsley and herbs, winter squash, diverse mushrooms and freshly pressed apple cider. You’ll also find pasture-raised meats, eggs, baked goods, fair trade locally roasted coffee, specialty food items and more.
