It’s finally the New Year, and you might have a list of resolutions you’d like to tackle. I say add this resolution to the top of the list: try something new. Why not go out and experience a new restaurant? Going to the gym can certainly be a part of 2016, but don’t forget to eat and enjoy Bucks County culture and cuisine.
Plan to eat out once a week through the month of January and February. Hamilton’s Grill Room introduces “An Evening of Tastes & Tales with Jim Hamilton,” a Wednesday night affair of remembrances from the life of Jim Hamilton, the owner of the restaurant. Each Wednesday there will be a $35 prix fixe (tax and gratuity additional) three-course dinner created by Mr. Hamilton that will evoke a special event or memory from the dinners of the Grill Room. Seatings are at 6:30 pm only, and reservations are a must. Reserve online here. The menu for January 6 includes: an appetizer of fried oyster atop deviled egg, original tableside caesar salad, an entrée of striped bass à la Grecque with shrimp, mussels and clams, risi bisi (seasoned rice with green peas), and for dessert, poached pear in red wine.
Ian Knauer, chef, educator, food writer and farm-to-table advocate, will give a cooking demonstration featuring local Bucks County ingredients at the Bucks County Foodshed Alliance‘s (BCFA) annual meeting on Wednesday, January 6, at 6 pm in the George School Meetinghouse in Newtown.
The potluck meal begins at 6 pm and a short business meeting is held at 6:40 pm over dessert. Chef Knauer’s cooking demo begins at 7 pm. Please bring a main, side, dessert or beverages to share and your own eating utensils. Locally sourced ingredients are encouraged. While there is no charge for this event, a donation is requested to support BCFA’s initiatives.
