Bucks Food Calendar: August 16, 2013

Umbrella drinkI know many people are away this time of the summer, but, boy is there a lot going on in Bucks and nearby! And perfect weather to sit out and sip an adult beverage.

Peaches are still “in.” The Market at Del Val is celebrating this stone fruit all weekend at Peachy Fun Days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm. Enjoy a wagon ride to the peach orchard where you can pick-your-own peaches ($0.99/lb.). There will also be an inflatable attraction and crafts. Admission is $2.

Come out to Old York Cellars in Ringoes, NJ for Jersey Peach Weekend. You’ll be able to sample Jersey peach salsa and cobbler paired with their wines, and sip Jersey Peach Sangria.

Free Will BrewingTonight is the annual Brewery Night “Eat and Drink Local” at the Fonthill Museum in Doylestown. Local brews, local food and local spirits, including Free Will Brewing Company, Keystone Homebrew Supply, Stonekey Winery, Mackenzie’s Brew House and Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company. Light fare is provided. Cost is $35/$28 members, and registration and pre-payment is required. Call 215.348.9461.

The Middletown Grange Fair, Bucks County’s county fair, started this past Wednesday and goes through Sunday. See lots of 4-H Club animals, including competitions for the best calf, rabbit, lambs and more. Be sure to get the chicken dinner. It’s the best food going at the fair. Weather should be beautiful this weekend too.
