6 things you gotta do in Bucks this weekend (June 10 – 12)

Clear skies, a sunny afternoon—sounds like a perfect day for the beach! This weekend, if you don’t have the time to travel far, stay local and enjoy some good late spring/early summer events in Bucks County, like learning new tips for grilling, sampling some new brews, and shopping at a new farmers market.


1. Shady Brook Farm Summer Grill

Come for some lunch on the patio at the Shady Brook Farm. Every Friday, their summer grill is open from 11 am – 2 pm. On the menu are summer items like locally raised beef burgers, hot dogs, Griggstown sausages, Just Food macaroni salad, Dijon potato salad, and sriacha coleslaw.

2. 2nd Annual Quakertown Alive

Friday, June 10, 12 – 3 pm, The Proper Brewing Company, West Broad Street, Quakertown, PA

Be in Quakertown this weekend to pick up your new 2016-2017 In Town Guide. The launch event is at the Proper Brewing Company from 12 – 3 pm. There will be live music with a DJ, an award ceremony, and it’s free admittance. Of course, there will be complimentary food and drinks!

3. Chalfont Borough Farmers Market

There is a new farmers market opening in the Chalfont Borough. It will be open once a month, on the second Saturday of each month from June until September. The market is open from 7 am – 12 pm, located at the old fire station in Chalfont, PA. The vendors include Farmer John Farm naturally grown produce, Edna’s famous pies and cakes, local honey, Blissful Natural lotions and lip balms, Cooper P. soap, and more.

4. Grilling Tasting Event

Head to the Tubby Olive to learn how to create easy and tasty grilled dishes with some of the Olive’s olive oils and balsamic vinegar. There will be a variety of recipes to taste and plenty of new ideas to cook up a better grilling experience. The Tubby Olive also has an assortment of speciality products, and many come from artisanal businesses from around Bucks County.

5. Spring Hoedown – Farm to Table Dinner

Saturday, June 11, 5 – 9 pm, Flint Hill Farm, 1922 Flint Hill Road, Coopersburg, PA

Flint Hill Farm is hosting a Farm to Table event, featuring a four-course dinner prepared by executive chef Michael Brack of Lehigh Valley Health Network Cedar Crest. The ingredients to the dinner are provided by the farm and other local farms. The dinner will include a salad, small bites, entrée and dessert. Local spirits will be available, and there is live music from Godfrey Daniels Musicians. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the farm, or by calling 610.838.2928. Purchase tickets online too.

6. What is Kombucha Anyway?

Sunday, June 12, 3 – 5 pm, The Doylestown Food Market, 29 West State Street, Doylestown, PA
