Fall is here to stay. The weather has been lovely and the leaves are changing, so there’s no reason to stay indoors. And local fall events are in full swing this weekend, so check out what’s going on in Bucks County to make sure you have a food-filled (and fun) weekend.
1. International Dinner
Sat, Oct 17, 6 pm, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hall, 1200 Park Ave., Bensalem, PA
Community members will feast on dozens of exotic dishes from around the globe at the International Dinner. The event also includes live entertainment and a silent auction. This year, Welcoming a Stranger will honor Bucks County Community College, and President Dr. Stephanie Shanblatt, will accept the honor on the college’s behalf. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Please send reservation checks (made out to Welcoming the Stranger) to Welcoming the Stranger, International Dinner, P.O. Box 1156, Langhorne, PA 19047. Direct questions to Meg Eubank at 215.702.3445 or meg@
2. Pick-Your-Own and, Hard Cider & Apple Wine Sale
Sat, Oct 17 – Sun, Oct 18, 12 – 6 pm, Peace Valley Winery, 300 Old Limekiln Rd, Chalfont, PA
Only a few more days of pick-your-own at Peace Valley Winery. This Sunday, October 18 is the last day. It’s a “three-for-two” sale too. Pick three pounds of any of the produce in the field (except cabbage or radishes) and only pay for two pounds. There is no limit, which means you could pick 300 pounds and only pay for 200. If you’re up for that crazy-picking challenge, then go right ahead. This will be the last week to pick veggies, grapes, apples — after that the field will be mowed. And there is more…
All Apple Wines and Hard Cider Super Sale! Since it is the end of apple picking season for the winery, they are putting all of their apple wines and cider on sale. From Monday, October 12, through Sunday, October 18, you can get their sweet Blushing Apple Wine, Spiced Apple Wine, and their very popular Lazy Dog Hard Cider for 10% off. This is on top of their already existing quantity discounts of 10% on 6 or more bottles, and 25% off 12 or more bottles.
3. Autumn Alive!
Sat, Oct 17, 10 am – 4 pm, 312 W. Broad St., Quakertown, PA
In quaint downtown Quakertown, join the community for the 16th Annual Autumn Alive festival, which attracts 8,000 people. The event will have all day entertainment on two stages, kid’s activities, a pet parade, cupcake and scarecrow contests and a beer garden with beer tastings. This is a free event.
