Bucks Food Calendar: August 5, 2011

Peaches!

Well, you knew that already. But more than just the accessibility of luscious, ripe and local peaches, there are two peach festivals going on this weekend, both annual celebrations. There will be a Peachy Fun Festival Saturday and Sunday at Shady Brook Farm in Yardley. On Sunday, head on over to the Bristol Cultural & Historical Society for their annual Peach Festival. Lots of family-friendly activities and peachy desserts.

Choo-choo. Did you know that the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad has four food-related train rides this weekend? The Grapevine Express Wine & Cheese Pairing begins at 5 pm on both Saturday and Sunday, followed by the Evening Star Dinner Train at 7 pm on Saturday evening (only). On Sunday, catch the Brunch Train leaving at 10:15 am or the Beer Tasting train departing at 3 pm. Good food, adult beverages available and beautiful Bucks County scenery (and air conditioned cars). For more detailed information, see their website.

Go out and have a wonderful Bucks County weekend. Stop in at your favorite farmers’ market (or explore a new one, like the Holland Township market in Milford, NJ), wander down some scenic back roads, enjoy a good meal and a nice drink on a pretty deck somewhere.
