Bucks Food Calendar: October 5, 2015

Drink, Logan Inn

We had a bit of rain this weekend thanks to Hurricane Joaquin, but it looks like Bucks County will have a calmer week coming up – sunny and in the 70’s. Venture out into the community and see what’s going on, like specialty dinners, fundraisers, and classes for amateur bartenders. And just in case, maybe bring an umbrella.

Halibut, Brian's Restaurant

On Tuesday, October 6, come to Lambertville and head over to Brian’s Restaurant for a tasting dinner influenced by Asian cuisine. Brian’s speciality is lovely rustic European cuisine set in a relaxed atmosphere, so this night will be a unique event. The meal will start at 6:30 pm and is $85 per person. The menu includes a crab spring roll with sweet and sour fish sauce, silken mushroom “tofu,” rice cracker crusted tuna with Sriracha aioli and vegetable “sushi,” roasted Alaskan halibut with bok choy and mushroom dashi, spiced duck breast with duck egg fried rice and organic soy, barbecued braised short rib with Thai flavors, and bananas tempura. Call 609.460.4148 for reservations and a reminder, Brian’s is a cash-only BYOB restaurant.

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery

When October comes around, you know there will be plenty of beer fests and dinners to attend. Try this one on Wednesday, October 7 at Spinnerstown Hotel Restaurant and Tap Room for a Beer Dinner with Hardywood, a craft brewery in Virginia. The evening will include beers paired with delicious food. The choices will include Peach Tripel, Vinalia Urbana, Single, Bourbon Sidamo, and Farmhouse Pumpkin. Chef Ricky is working on amazing food pairings, so keep checking back for the menu. Seats are $65 per person, including tax and gratuity.

Drink, Logan Inn

Their last cocktail class was a huge hit so the Logan Inn in New Hope will be having another on Wednesday, October 7. Join them to make three of your very own Fall cocktails with expert instruction from the Logan Inn’s bartenders.  There will be yummy appetizers too. The “Fall Fruit & Spices Cocktail Class” will start at 7 pm and is $45 per person. To reserve, click here.

Culinary Classics

A Culinary Classics Fundraiser is set for this Thursday, October 8Chandler Hall’s Wright Meeting Hall in Newtown will be overflowing with fine food and drinks from around the world this evening. There will be over 25 restaurants, caterers, wineries, breweries, bakeries and confectioners in attendance, so there is no way guests will go hungry — or thirsty — for long. The festivities include live music and silent and live auctions, kicking off at 6 pm and ending around 9:30 pm. Tickets are $125 at the door. All proceeds from Culinary Classics support Hospice Benevolent Care.
