“Mostly sunny, with a high near 66.” Now that’s what I call May. And that’s the forecast for this weekend. Perfect weather for some of these events and more.
To market, to market. The Wrightstown Farmers Market opens for its regular season this Saturday, May 3. They will be giving out free vegetable seedlings (while supplies last) and making “Monster Bubbles.” The Pineville Tavern will be coming to the market every Saturday with a grill, cooking up some great breakfast sandwiches and barbecue. Yum. The Wrightstown Market is just north of Newtown and Richboro at 2203 Second Street Pike. See their Facebook page for updates.
Pigs, wine and beer. Unionville Vineyards in Ringoes, NJ, is hosting their 3rd Annual Pig Roast at the Vineyard Friday evening. There will be roast pig, appetizers, sides, and dessert provided by the Stoltzfus Family, a choice of Unionville wines, Swine Sangria and Piggy Punch, and live bluegrass music. Tickets are $45 per person and must be purchased in advance. They are available online at unionvillevineyards.com/swine.
On Saturday, head on over to Washington Crossing Historic Park for the 4th Annual Washington Crossing Brewfest. This falls under the “Drinking for a Good Cause” category since the proceeds support educational and historical programming in the park. The event—which draws 2,000 people and sells out every year—features beer sampling from more than 60 national and regional breweries, live bands and multiple food vendors. Buy your tickets online at washingtoncrossingbrewfest.com.
