Before the summer is over, you’ve got to have your own BBQ night. Grab some local beef (or produce if meat’s not your thing) and grill the night away.
Hosting a BBQ night can be time-consuming though, depending on how many people you need to cook for, so it might be fun to have someone else make the food instead. This weekend you’re in luck: there are several BBQ events in Bucks County. You’ll be able to cross summer grilling off your list in no time!

1. 68th Annual Middletown Grange Fair
Thursday through Saturday, Middletown Grange Fair, 576 Penns Park Road, Wrightstown, PA
The 68th Annual Middletown Grange Fair is in full swing this week, and the fun isn’t over yet. This Saturday and Sunday, enjoy Bucks County’s agricultural heritage by walking around the fairgrounds and checking out animal expositions and exhibits, 4-H competitions, entertainment, food and good company. At the fair, you will find exhibits featuring plants, baked goods, vegetables, and even things like home products and artwork.
Don’t miss out on the traditional Grange Fair chicken barbecue dinner, taking place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Tickets go on sale at 3:30 pm and continue until they are all sold out. The meal includes locally raised chicken, corn on the cob, buttered parsley potatoes, fresh tomatoes, cranberry sauce, roll and butter, a beverage and a cup of Goodnoe ice cream, all for a cost of $15 each. There’s also a child size for $10.
2. Shady Brook Farm Summer Concert Series
Friday, August 19, 5:30 – 9:30 pm, Shady Brook Farm, 931 Stony Hill Road, Yardley, PA
The Shady Brook Farm summer concert series is held each Friday night, weather permitting, from 6:30 – 9:30 pm. The event features different bands, brews and food. This weekend, come hear the popular Mango Men Duo. Sip on wine from Rose Bank Winery or have a craft beer and food courtesy of Dog & Bull Brew House. For the kids, there are giant jumping pillows, a playground, SBF 500 pedal go-carts. It’s a $5 cover, wine and beer is available for purchase, and no outside food or drinks are allowed.
3. Pick-Your-Own Grape Season
Saturday, August 20, 10 am – 12 pm, Peace Valley Winery, 300 Old Limekiln Road, Chalfont, PA
It’s been a hot summer, and the abundance of great produce is the evidence. This weekend, it’s time to pick-your-own grapes. Peace Valley Winery will open the Fredonia grapes for picking starting this Saturday, August 20 at 10 am. The field will not be open prior to 10 am.
These grapes are big purple concord grapes that are full of flavor. The price is $1.20 per pound, the same as last year. Also at Peace Valley Winery this weekend, pick-your-own fresh veggies from their fields. The fields have okra, peppers, eggplants, beans and more. Don’t forget your wine as well! Starting Saturday, August 20, Peace Valley Winery will open seven days a week for the full harvest season. Monday through Saturday 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday 12 – 6 pm.
4. Upper Bucks Brewfest
Saturday, August 20, 1 pm, Historic Quakertown Train Station, 15 Front Street, Quakertown, PA
The Upper Bucks Brewfest returns this Saturday, August 20. This annual brewfest was created by Quakertown Alive! in 2013 for funding efforts in downtown Quakertown. General admission (at the door) is $40, and gives you unlimited tastings of 50 craft beers in a souvenir glass. If you buy online before, tickets are $35. Designated driver tickets are $10, and VIP tickets are $70. These tickets give you a one hour earlier admittance with the opportunity to taste special beers and nibble on free appetizers. Goose Island, Smuttynose, Jacks Abby, Free Will, Terrapin, Lagunitas, Allagash, and Dogfish Head are just some of the beers that will be on tap.
5. BBQ Bash at The Bucks Club
Saturday, August 20, 3 – 7 pm, The Bucks Club, 2600 York Road, Jamison, PA
You’re invited to join The Bucks Club for its first Annual BBQ Bash. There will be food, drinks, games, live music, and a cornhole tournament. Admission is free and food and drinks will be available for cash only. Food and drink options include: crab legs, BBQ chicken, hot dogs and burgers, and a beer and liquor station. Grab a partner and call the pro shop at 215.343.0350 ext. 104 to sign up for the cornhole tournament. Guests can also play ladder ball & giant Jenga! There will be a 50-50 raffle as well.
6. Firehouse Breakfasts
Sunday, August 21, 7:30 am – 12:30 pm, Perkasie Fire Co., Fifth and Arch Streets, Perkasie, PA
Sunday, August 21, 8 am – 12:30 pm, Riegelsville Fire Company, 333 Delaware Road, Riegelsville, PA
The Perkasie Fire Company on Fifth and Arch Streets in Perkasie hosts its all-you-can-eat buffet this Sunday. The menu includes eggs, pancakes, waffles, cream dried beef, sausage, bacon, scrapple, home fries, assorted juice and more. Top it off with dessert, too! Adult price $7, children ages four to 12 are $3.50, and three and under are free. Call 215.257.6950 for more information.
Also on Sunday at the Riegelsville Fire Company, breakfast is served from 8 am – 12 pm and includes traditional morning breakfast items like scrapple, creamed dried beef, eggs, ham, sausage, omelets, toast, pancakes and more. All of this is cooked by the firefighters, just for you. All proceeds benefit the fire fighting program at Community Fire Company #1, Station 42.
7. Traditional Crab Roll
Sunday, August 21, Lumberville General Store, 3741 River Road, Lumberville, PA
Nothing says summer time like a crab boil. Join the Lumberville General Store this Sunday, August 21 from 3:30 – 7 pm for an outdoor feast featuring blue crab, cheddar biscuits, grilled chicken wings, and more. It’s also BYOB! Adult tickets are $21.95 and kids meals are $9.95.
8. King Henry’s Feast
Sunday, August 21, 4 – 9 pm, Cock n’ Bull Restaurant, Peddler’s Village, Routes 202 & 263, Lahaska, PA
King Henry is returning from vacation for one night only! This Sunday, August 21 enjoy a feast that’s only fit for kings at the Cock n’ Bull Restaurant at Peddler’s Village. Enjoy items from the raw bar like peeled shrimp, clams on the half shell or oysters. The main entrees include steamed lobsters, old bay poached crab legs, steamed mussels in garlic and ale or scallop & shrimp scampi. Hand carved meats and garden fresh salads are available as well.
