5Announcing the rebirth of the Newtown State Store

The Newtown Fine Wine and Good Spirits state store moved to its new, beautiful digs in Newtown borough in early December. It’s the first business to open at Steeple View, a redevelopment project at 212 South State Street.

The new store—the 7th largest in PA and the 20th most profitable—is a whopping 12,952 square feet of retail space, according to Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board spokesman Shawn Kelly.

Why so exciting? Well…if you had ever been in the old Newtown state store, you would understand. It was crowded and had a parking lot that created enough stress to encourage buying a few more bottles (maybe that was the idea?).

The new location follows the Premium Collection store layout that you’ll see in Bucks County’s New Hope and Doylestown stores — wide aisles, clean merchandising and a lot more inventory. The whiskey section alone is impressive. Then there’s 2000+ wines now in stock. Cheers to that!
