Christmas may be over, but there are still six days of Chanukah left! This week, Bucks County Jewish centers are hosting a lot of activities to celebrate this holiday of warmth and light, including delicious traditional Chanukah goodies like potato pancakes (latkes), doughnuts and more.
And if you still don’t know what you will be doing on New Year’s Eve (this Saturday!), we will be publishing a post tomorrow, Tuesday, on where you can dine locally. Check back here at the website or on Facebook and Twitter.
Lights & latkes.There’s a Chanukah celebration for seniors happening this Tuesday, December 27 at 12:30 pm. Discover the light in you and others while enjoying a delicious latke bar and lunch. The celebration is hosted at the Chabad Doylestown Jewish Center, and it is free.
Also on Tuesday…McCaffrey’s Food Market is hosting a balloon Chanukah lighting from 5:30 – 7 pm on Tuesday, December 27. Help build a giant balloon menorah, create Chanukah crafts, and indulge in hot latkes, doughnuts, and purchase hot dogs for later.
Taco Tuesday!Come to Comfortfood & Kitchenette for comfort food and a classic movie on “Taco Tuesday.” Tacos are served family style with chips, homemade salsas, pickled veggies. There are endless tacos and a great flick, chef’s choice. Starts at 7 pm and it’s $25 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. Also, if you can’t stay for taco night, the Comfortfood & Kitchenette is always changing up their blackboard with new daily specials. To give you an idea, check out last week’s menu, which included items like kale salad and grass-fed pork meatballs.
Chanukah party!Enjoy a magical Chanukah celebration for the whole family this Wednesday, December 28 starting at 6:30 pm. There will be a giant menorah lighting outdoors, an indoor yummy latke party, and a magic show from Magic By Mystique. There will be plenty of refreshments for all. Lubavitch of Bucks County is hosting the party at the Glazier Jewish Center, 25 N. State St. in Newtown.
Also on Wednesday at the Yardley Borough Hall, there will be a grand outdoor menorah lighting. Light the giant menorah and enjoy hot cider, latkes, music and more. The fun starts at 5:30 pm.
Wednesday night ribs.Did you know Wednesday is rib night? Head to the Fireside Smokehouse in Feasterville-Trevose this Wednesday for a juicy rib night special. There’s nothing like comfort food in the winter! Get a half rack of ribs and two sides for $9.50 or a full rack and two sides for $15.95. Dine in only. See more information here.
More Chanukah partying.There’s an adult Chanukah social happening this Thursday, December 29 at 7:30 pm. This will be a great evening celebrating Chanukah with great company. Enjoy a gourmet latke bar, live music, a dreidel tournament, and an elegant dessert buffet with hors d’oeuvres and fine wine.
