Hamilton's Grill Room

We’re moving away from “the cold is bearable” and into “the cold is unbelievable.” You’d think we’d get used to the below 10 degrees evenings, and yet I find myself wanting to leave my warm and cozy abode less and less. To avoid getting stir crazy, here are some local happenings, tidbits and specials to get you out of the house (just layer up!).

A New Jersey Truffle Dinner

Black truffles

It’s outside of county lines, but this dinner sounds too good to pass up. Matt’s Red Rooster Grill in Flemington, NJ is hosting a fresh black winter truffle dinner, from January 9 – 11.

Dishes include black truffle risotto and a starter with truffle whipped ricotta cheese and truffle honey. Make a reservation for this unique dinner here.

Midweek Specials at Hamilton’s Grill

Hamilton's Grill RoomHamilton’s Grill Room is wonderful in the spring and summertime — there’s nothing like sitting in a lovely garden setting while you dine over seasonal dishes. But in the winter, it’s just as cozy inside the restaurant. On Wednesdays, they have a prime rib night with a succulent cut of beef with a homemade horseradish cream. On Thursdays, it’s lobster night. There’s a choice of Lobster Fracked Diavolo served over pappardelle or flash grilled lobster stuffed with herb butter. Here are some other midweek specials and here’s where you can reserve with Open Table.

If this restaurant isn’t in your neck of the woods, check out this local guide to eating out in Bucks County (near and far).

Roots to River Farmers Market

Oyster Mushrooms
Oyster Mushrooms from Roots to River Farm. Note: produce is available in limited quantities. Check their Facebook page or call for more info.

You don’t have to resort to frozen. Get it fresh all year-long at Roots to River Farmers Market in Titusville, NJ on Wednesdays from 3 – 6:30 pm (and Sundays 11 am – 3 pm). Pick up winter immunity-boosting produce like beets, kohlrabi, salad mix, sweet potatoes, winter squash, carrots, and more. Stock your pantry with everything you need.
