7 things you gotta do in Bucks this weekend (April 7 – 9)

It’s a hops-filled weekend! And we’re not just talking about beer.

Kick off Friday with a nice cold brew in honor of National Beer Day (a perfect excuse to enjoy those happy hour specials), check out a new restaurant as part of Foodie First Friday. Later you can see the Easter Bunny (more hops!) but if that’s not your thing, check out a local matzah baking workshop.

1. National Beer Day

This Friday, April 7 is National Beer Day! And it’s all day, from 11 am – 12 am (closing). In order to celebrate the day, Doylestown Brewing Co. is offering $3 Doyle’s Tavern Porter, $3 Cinni’ster Stout, and $1.50 lite lager bottles. For any purchase of $15 or more on food or at the bar, you can walk away with a free six-pack of R5 Lite Lager bottles.

2. Beer Tasting: Long Trail Brewing Co.

It was 1989 when the first batch of Long Trail Ale rolled off the line. Back then, the brewery was known as the Mountain Brewers, and it was a small brew house tucked into the basement of the Old Woolen Mill in Bridgewater Corners. You can taste their brews this Friday at the Washington House in Sellersville. Remember, it’s National Beer Day!

3. Foodie First Friday

Friday, April 7, 5 – 9 pm, Downtown Doylestown, PA

This Friday, try out a different restaurant or eatery in Doylestown since it’s Foodie First Friday, a monthly event that celebrates culture, community and cuisine. Many of the restaurants have specials for the celebration, so try a restaurant you’ve never been to, or stop by your usual place and enjoy your favorites. 4. Easter Bunny Brunch

Saturday and Sunday, April 8 – 9, 9 am – 1 pm, The Market at DelVal, 2100 Lower State Rd., Doylestown, PA

Hop on down to The Market at DelVal and attend their annual bunny brunch and egg hunt. Your brunch includes homemade meal of carved ham, apple French toast, an omelet station, bacon, cut fruit, and more.

And, there’s other fun like visits and photos with the Easter bunny, wagon ride to the egg hunting grounds, an egg hunt, prize, inflatable attractions, and more. Cost is $18 for kids and $15 for adults. Reservations are required and space is limited so call 215.230.7170 to save your spot.

5. Matzah Making Workshops

Sunday, April 9, 10 – 11:30 am and 12:30 – 2 pm, Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse, 369 Stamets Rd., Milford, NJ

Matzoh from Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse; Bucks County Food EventsCome learn how to make matzah in Bobolink Dairy and Bakehouse’s wood-fired oven. They make their matzah from emmer wheat, the grain that dates back to the time of the Exodus from Egypt.

6. Pairing Wine and Cheese

Sunday, April 9, 2 – 4 pm, Crossing Vineyards and Winery, 1853 Wrightstown Rd., Washington Crossing, PA

Learn how to select cheeses to complement your favorite wines this weekend at Crossing Vineyards and Winery. You’ll get to sample some cheeses and discover which ones you like the best. 7. Doylestown Food Market Presents Local Live

Sunday, April 9, 4 – 10 pm, Puck, 1 Printers Alley, Doylestown, PA

Local Live in Doylestown ; Bucks County Food Events

The Doylestown Food Market presents Local Live, a celebration of local music and food. Sample fresh dishes sourced from local farms, enjoy a variety of music, and dance with new friends and old.

Doors open at 4 pm at Puck in Doylestown. Local Live will also feature a silent auction and cash bar. Adult admission for Doylestown Food Market members is $15 and non-members are $20. Children under 12 are $5. Tickets can be purchased online, and all proceeds benefit the Doylestown Food Market.
