5 things you gotta do in Bucks this weekend (March 30 – April 2)

This is no April Fools joke: You can pack plenty spring into your weekend with these foodie events. Start off by picking up a few warm, gooey cinnamon buns in Doylestown, hop on down to a senior center for some breakfast with the Easter Bunny, and stop by the Linden Hills Garden annual Springfair. Flowers, chocolates, local goodies — everything you need to calm that spring fever.

1. Cinnamon Bun Bake Sale

Thursday, March 30 through Saturday, April 1, 9 am – 3 pm, Central Bucks Senior Center, 700 N. Shady Retreat Rd., Doylestown, PA

Cinnamon buns with raisins and nuts

Picture this: a warm, gooey cinnamon bun next to a piping hot cup of coffee (or tea). This could be your weekend breakfast if you stop by the Central Bucks Senior Center to pick up some of their fresh-baked cinnamon buns, handmade by the members of the center.

You can enjoy the buns plain, with raisins or nuts, or both! Learn more about the sale here or call the center for more information. Save some for the weekend, or eat them all as soon as you get home!

2. Cocktails for the Cure

Friday, March 31, 7:30 – 11 pm, Spring Mill Manor, 171 Jacksonville Rd., Ivyland, PA

Drinks with lime

The 6th annual Cocktails for the Cure will be a “celebration like none other.” Bucks County based events for the Curing Retinal Blindness Foundation have raised over $600,000 since 2011. This weekend, you can join your friends for the annual event which benefits the foundation and research for cures. There will be food, drinks and live music all night long. Also, there’s a silent and live auction. Buy your tickets here ($75 per person).

3. Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

Saturday, April 1, Bristol Township Senior Center, 2501 Bath Rd. #1, Bristol, PA

The Easter bunny is coming to town. Well, he’s coming to the Bristol Township Senior Center from 9 am – 12 pm to meet with kids and parents. Breakfast will be served as well. Enjoy pancakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice and milk, followed by children’s crafts, activities and games. Call 215.785.6322 for more information.

4. Indoor Yardley Farmers Market

Saturday, April 1, Yardley Friends Meetinghouse, 65 N. Main St, Yardley, PA

Snipes Farm at Yardley Farmers Market

The indoor Yardley Farmers Market is going strong! And there’s only a few more times it will be open for the season. The indoor market will end on April 15, so head over this weekend to pick up farm fresh produce. The market has a variety of vendors including pasture raised meats, seasonal vegetables and fruits, pickled and fermented foods, Kombuchu, prepared ready to eat foods, locally roasted coffee, honey and natural body products and candles. Enjoy! 

5. Linden Hill Gardens Springfair

Saturday, April 1, 10 am – 4 pm, 8230 Easton Rd., Ottsville, PA

Easter chocolates and flowers

Despite the chilly weather, spring is here. Celebrate it this weekend at Linden Hill Gardens with their annual Springfair. On April 1, check out local artisans selling quality, handcrafted gifts and tasty treats. There will be Easter chocolates, cookies, jams, sauces, gourmet foods, fresh roasted coffee and teas, along with ready-to-eat food. It’s a free event, and it runs on Saturday from 10 am – 4 pm.

Linden Hill Gardens is also hosting its 15th Annual Hellebore Festival on Saturday and Sunday. You’ll find plants and pretty flowers, with all different blooms, patterns and ranges of colors.
