We’re changing things up a bit here at Bucks County Taste. Our weekday calendar post will come out on Mondays now, and on Thursdays look for our “Things you gotta do in Bucks this weekend” post. So now you don’t have to wait until the weekend to have fun. There’s plenty to do during the week, too! Check out what’s on this week’s menu, below.
Monday, June 1: Fran’s Pub in New Hope is doing a Mexican and Blues Night every Monday from 5:30 pm to 10 pm. Cheers!
Tuesday, June 2: Langhorne Farmers Market is opening for the season and will be back every Tuesday from 3 to 6:30 pm until October. At this market you’ll find fresh local produce, organic coffee, fresh bread and cookies, jams and preserves, tomato pies, sauces, soaps, Angus beef and more.
Wednesday, June 3: Want to know where your food actually comes from? The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance is kicking off their 2015 Summer Farm Tour series with a tour of Freedom Farm and Bucks County Apiaries in Plumstead (18902). Freedom farm has heritage breeds of goats, sheep, pigs, cows and chickens, and also hosts the honey beehives of Bucks County Apiaries. The tour is preceded by a potluck dinner that starts at 6 pm. Thursday, June 4: The Uncorked Artist in Warminster is hosting a BYOB Paint-and-Sip evening of creative fun, beverages, snacks, & raffles at 7 pm to benefit the Warminster Township Library. Dont’ miss out; click this link to register.

Here’s what you’ll find at area farmers’ markets: Arugula, asparagus, beets, bok choy, broccoli, butter oyster mushrooms,
carrots, cucumbers, fennel, garlic, green onions, cut herbs, kale, kohlrabi, leeks, mushrooms, parsnips, potatoes, radishes, ramps, rhubarb, scallions, snap peas, spinach, strawberries, Swiss chard, tender greens, watercress and more.
Most markets will also have eggs from free-range chickens, grass-fed and pastured meats, preserves, specialty foods, baked goods like breads, cakes, cookies and pastries, cheese and yogurt, cider and juice, sauces locally roasted coffee, and interesting crafts from local artisans.
