Hard to believe but August is coming to a close — and with it summer. So make the most of it and this weekend, eat breakfast with your local firefighters, sample food truck cuisine with Middle Eastern flavors, and purchase all the delicious summer produce that’s still available!

1. Lower Makefield Farmers Market
Thursday, August 25, 3:30 – 6:30 pm, Lower Makefield Township Farmers’ Market, 1100 Edgewood Rd., Yardley, PA
The Lower Makefield Farmers Market is always open rain or shine in Veterans Square Park of Yardley. Stop by today, Thursday, August 25 to see Miss Marilyn, where she will put on a great show of music and dancing for kids and their families. Her show begins at 4:15 pm. Also, this week, Bonjour Creperie will be in attendance. It’s an award-winning food truck that uses locally grown products in their sweet and savory crepes.
The market will also have soft pretzels for sale at the Welcome Tent for just $1 each. All proceeds go directly to a local food bank.
Other vendors this week include: Apple Ridge Farm, Charlann Farms, Fulper Family Farm, Promised Land Natural Farm (with Shady Brook Farm’s fruit), and Two Sisters Canning, to name a few. Vendors will have fruits and vegetables like blackberries, cantaloupe, corn, celery, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, lettuce mix, radishes, kale, Swiss chard, garlic, potatoes, fresh onions, zucchini, squash, cucumbers, peppers, and more! 2. Italy in the Village
Friday through Sunday, August 26 – 28, Peddler’s Village, Routes 202 & 263, Lahaska, PA
Italy in the Village—a series of dining events at Peddler’s Village —continues through this weekend. Celebrate the heritage of Italy right here in Bucks County.
- Friday, August 26 and Saturday, August 27, “Linguini Code” Enjoy a delicious dinner and a show called “Linguini Code,” an Italian themed murder mystery dinner about competing pasta makers racing to find the secret of the holy grain of Italian pasta. Reservations are required so call 215.794.4051 to save your spot. Cost of the dinner is $64.95 per person.
- Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28, Italian Strolls Through the Village: On Saturday and Sunday, walk around to different tasting locations in the Village to sip wines from the regions of Italy. It’s $44 per person, and reservation times on Saturday are 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm and 5 pm. Reservation times on Sunday are 12 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm. Reservations are required.
- Italian Brunch at the Cock ‘n Bull: From 9:30 am – 2 pm, enjoy a unique brunch with a pasta station, omelet station, Italian hot foods, and Italian dessert delicacies. Reservations accepted, call 215.794.4051.
3. Burgers, Beers and Blues
Friday, August 26, 5 – 7 pm, Doylestown Weis Markets, 73 Old Dublin Pike, Doylestown, PA
Start the weekend off on a good note with burgers, beers and good music. The Doylestown Weis Markets is cooking up some gourmet burgers this weekend, served alongside great summer beers. Enjoy live music on the patio while you eat. Try samples of creamy bruschetta dip and crunchy roasted chickpeas too. This event runs from 5 – 7 pm.
4. Vladimir Bryant Foundation Summer BBQ
Saturday, August 27, 4 – 7 pm, Levittown Church of God, 571 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, PA
Join the people behind the Vladimir Bryant Foundation this Saturday, August 27 for a BBQ fundraiser. The Vladimir Bryant Foundation provides service and care to children with disabilities in Haiti. Donate $20 for a barbecue meal, listen to music and participate in a raffle. Visit the foundation’s Facebook page for more information.
5. Music and Food Nights at Bucks County Brewery
Friday and Saturday, August 26 – 27, Bucks County Brewery, 31 Appletree Lane, Pipersville, PA
Every Friday and Saturday night, the Bucks County Brewery serves up beer and live music. You might get hungry from all the dancing, which is why the Bucks County Brewery also has food trucks on site. This Friday, enjoy the music from the popular Eric Mintel Quartet and food from the Taza Egyptian Truck and BrazBQ. The Taza Egyptian Truck serves up Egyptian delicacies made from scratch, and BrazBQ is ranked one of the best food trucks in Philly for its Brazilian style food.
6. Firehouse Breakfast
Sunday, August 28, 8 am – 12 pm, Haycock Fire Company, 850 Old Bethlehem Road, Quakertown, PA
Nothing beats a warm meal on a Sunday morning. Enjoy at the all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet at the Haycock Fire Company in Quakertown this Sunday. The fire company is serving breakfast from 8 am – 12 pm. Adults pay $7, children from ages four to seven $5, and children three and under eat free. There will be pancakes, french toast, scrambled eggs, ham, sausage links, plain and seasoned potatoes, cream chipped beef, toast, fruit cocktail, and homemade desserts.
7. Garden Highlights and Beer Brewing
Sunday, August 28, 1 – 4 pm, Pennsbury Manor, 400 Pennsbury Memorial Road, Morrisville, PA
Meet the gardener of Pennsbury Manor and check out what is happening this summer in the Kitchen Garden. The Kitchen House will have brewers demonstrating how to make a batch of Garden Surprise Beer and discuss the brewing process of the 17th Century. It’s $9 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for children, at the door. Call 215.946.0400 for more information.
8. Dinner with Friends
Sunday, August 28, 5:30 pm, Bux-Mont Christian Church, 400 Jacksonville Road, Ivyland, PA
“Dinner with friends” is offered every fourth Sunday of the month for those in need in the local community. The church offers this hot, hearty meal free of charge. This month’s dinner is cheese steaks, tater tots, corn on the cob, watermelon, apple pie, brownies, ice cream and assorted drinks. Dinner starts at 5:30 pm.
