The giving part of Thanksgiving

If you are looking for a way to help out folks this holiday season, here’s a great opportunity. The Bucks County Housing Group does great work helping homeless families get back on their feet and under a warm roof. During the holidays they accept donations of “Holiday Baskets” – a full holiday meal for 4-6 people. If you can’t swing that, consider donating food to any of their food pantries.

Here’s their suggested menu for the holiday meal baskets. The Thanksgiving Baskets are due Tuesday, November 17th, which is just next week, so consider it while doing your food shopping this week.

Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Baskets
Provide a meal for a family of 4-6 people.

“Fixings” include:

  • Potatoes (fresh or boxed)
  • Stuffing (Stovetop is fine; if not include seasonings)

  • Dessert ( pumpkin pie mix and crust mix or brownie mix)
  • Cranberry JELLY
  • Gravy (jarred)
  • Beverage ( iced tea mix, coffee etc.)
