STOP proposed subdivision of Patterson Farm tonite

Neighbors, Friends, Those Concerned about Local Farming,

It is LAST CALL to stop the proposed subdivision of the Patterson Farm by the Lower Makefield Township Board of Supervisors!!

Tonight @ 7:30pm the Planning Commission will consider the Board of Supervisors plan to subdivide the Patterson Farm. If the Planning Commission votes in favor of the plan, there is no stopping the division of the farm, which will set the course for the demise of agriculture at Patterson Farm. The historic “Satterthwaite” (aka Doan) house, barn, corn crib, outbuildings and a parcel of land will be sold off, handicapping the farm for future occupation by a farmer. The Board of Supervisors has no experience with farming and do not realize the damage they are inflicting on one of Bucks County’s most fertile farms.

Plans are already under way to convert the barn at the Patterson homestead to a Senior Citizen center, a project that will be very expensive for taxpayers and will halt any further use of the barn for the storage of crops, ag materials and farm machinery. The township has spent million$ on the golf course, but refuses to honor the last wishes of the Pattersons to preserve and maintain their farm for future generations of food production.

The Board Of Supervisors expects a quick decision in their favor. They have scheduled the Patterson issue on their agenda for this Wednesday at 7:30 pm.

If you are in favor of local agriculture, please attend these meetings, SPEAK UP AND STOP THE DESTRUCTION OF THE PATTERSON FARM! This is the last chance the public will have to comment on this issue.

Meeting location 1100 Edgewood Road, Yardley, PA 19067.

PLEASE FORWARD TO ALL WHO ARE CONCERNED ABOUT PRESERVING LOCAL AGRICULTURE. AMERICA LOSES 2 ACRES OF FARMLAND PER MINUTE. WE CANNOT ALLOW ANOTHER FARM TO BE LOST DUE TO OUR LOCAL POLITICIANS IGNORANCE & APATHY ABOUT AGRICULTURE!

(Sorry about the last-minute notice, but the notification from the township to the neighbors of Patterson Farm was received only this weekend).

Thank you,
Donna Doan
