“Ingredients” at BCFA meeting this Wednesday

This Wednesday, April 7th, the Bucks County Foodshed Alliance will host a showing of the 2009 Optic Nerve Productions’ feature-length documentary, Ingredients. The film illustrates how people around the country are working to revitalize their connection to their food sources.

The event, which is open to all and free of charge, is held at the Wrightstown Village Library, 727 Penn’s Park Rd., in Wrightstown, beginning at 7:30 pm.

A little info from the Ingredients website:

Narrated by Bebe Neuwirth, the film takes us across the U.S. from the diversified farms of the Hudson River and Willamette Valleys to the urban food deserts of Harlem and to the kitchens of celebrated chefs Alice Waters, Peter Hoffman and Greg Higgins. Ingredients is a journey that reveals the people behind the movement to bring good food back to the table and health back to our communities.”

Ingredients received the prestigious Silver Sierra Award for Documentary Filmmaking at the 2009 Yosemite Film Festival and has had showings at film festivals and environmental events across the country since its premiere at the Globians DocFest in Berlin, Germany, August 13. It was produced and filmed by cinematographer Brian Kimmel; written, directed and edited by Robert Bates; researched and produced by Debra Sohm Lawson. Executive producers are Corinne Bourdeau and Mary Elizabeth Murphy.

This event serves as the BCFA’s April general meeting. For more information, go to: www.BucksCountyFoodshedAlliance.org
