Bucks Food Calendar: July 24, 2017

The forecast this week calls for some much-needed rain, but no need to stay huddled inside! This week we’ve got events that are perfect for an evening with friends.

Can’t bear the thought of going outside? Make something new and seasonal for dinner this week. We’ve got plenty of recipes to choose from in our archives here.

Logan Inn Call up the Spirits Event

Call up the Spirits. Grab some friends and get ready for some “spirited” fun. This Tuesday, July 25, the Logan Inn in New Hope is welcoming back the author and spiritual medium, Edward Tabbitas, for another round of dinners and spirit readings.

The evening includes a welcome cocktail, hors d’oeuvres, three-course dinner, and a group reading with Tabbitas (and free parking!) all for $80. [Price does not include alcohol, tax and gratuity.] Stay packages are available too. The dinners run the last Tuesday of each month, including August 29, September 26, and October 24 – 31.

Dining in the Dark

Dining in the Dark. This Wednesday evening, experience what it is like to eat…in the dark! The Bucks County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired hosts this special pasta dinner. You will enjoy a delicious dinner while learning techniques to overcome challenges of dining in the dark as they simulate blindness and visual impairments.

The dinner begins at 6:30 pm. Buy your tickets now by calling 215.968.9400 or go to their website to purchase your tickets for $15.

Fajitas and ‘ritas. You know what pairs well with $5 margaritas? Sizzling fajitas. Thursday nights are now Fajita-Rita-Nights at the Rising Sun Inn. From 5 – 10 pm, you can enjoy chicken, steak or shrimp fajitas with warm tortilla shells, peppers, onions, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and salsa. The guac’ is a dollar extra. Eat your fajitas in the tavern or on the deck.

Looking for a new restaurant? Or getting back to one you haven’t been to in awhile? Lots of local restaurants offer sweet deals on weeknights. Check out our guide to Locals Nights in Bucks County here.

Evening in the Country. On Thursday, July 27 at 6:30 pm, the Michener Art Museum’s catering partner, Catering By Design, will present Evening in the Country. This farm-to-table dinner will feature a variety of locally sourced ingredients. During the night, diners will learn about local foods and enjoy tasty dishes in the Edgar N. Putman Event Pavilion, which overlooks the outdoor sculpture gardens.

The dinner will feature food created from the following vendors: None Such Farms, LoRe Pasta, Blue Moon Acres. Call the museum for more information about tickets.

Gout et voyage cooking class

Goût et Voyage cooking classes. Learn to create delicious meals from Goût et Voyage and the teachings of Martine Bertin-Peterson. Upcoming classes include a farmers’ market-to-table dinner, a French bistro dinner, and a brunch with friends meal. You’ll use seasonal and fresh ingredients from local purveyors, and at the end of each class, you’ll get a sit down meal of prepared dishes paired with wine.

On the radar…

  • Clam Bake: The Lumberville General Store is holding a clambake on Sunday, August 13 from 3:30 – 7 pm. Cost for adults is $19.95 and for kids $9.95, and it’s BYOB. Click here for the menu.
