This is a hard time of year. Winter is finally ending and spring is near — but not quite here yet. I don’t know about you, but I’m still in winter mode when it comes to eating. I want warmth. I want comfort. I want food.
Fortunately there are plenty of warming food choices in Bucks and nearby this week. It’s restaurant week in Doylestown, handmade cinnamon buns are baking at the Central Bucks Senior Center and Hamilton’s Grill Room presents their annual four course oyster dinner.
Doylestown Restaurant Week. If you’ve been hankering to try something new, now’s your chance. The Doylestown Restaurant Week runs through Thursday, March 30, and during this time, participating restaurants will offer fixed menus highlighting some of their unique dishes.
This is a great opportunity to try out a new Doylestown restaurant and help out the Kiwanis Club (donations will be collected at each eatery).
Just call the restaurant of your choice to make reservations. Here are just some of the restaurants participating. For a full list, click here:

Road Trip! Bowman’s to Bowman’s
Sunday, April 2, 2017, 2 pm to 7 pm
You are probably familiar with Bowman’s Tavern in New Hope, but did you know that they’ve now opened Bowman’s North in Riegelsville?
The Bucks County Taste Dinner Club is doing its first road trip!
We’ll begin at 2 pm at Bowman’s Tavern with hors d’oeuvres, complimentary Mimosas and live music by Ottmar in the piano lounge.
Then we’ll enjoy a beautiful ride up the river in a comfy shuttle bus, with live music by Mike Amery on fiddle and James on banjo. We’ll also have complimentary wine, craft beer and a special cocktail for the trip.
When we arrive at Bowman’s North in Riegelsville, a 3-course dinner will be served. After all this, we’ll bring you back to Bowman’s Tavern by early evening (7 / 7:30 pm).
Come spend a fun afternoon with friends, old and new. This is an experience you won’t want to miss. Only 5 spots left!
