4 things you gotta do in Bucks this weekend (Jan 15 – 17)

Winter isn’t coming, it’s here. Bundle up, hang out in Bucks County and pick up some food to go so you won’t go hungry (just in case there is a blizzard).

1. Grab and Go Pasta

Saturday, Jan. 15, 4 – 7 pm, Stockton Fire Company, 9 Mill Street, Stockton, NJ

Stockton Fire Co. Grab n Go Pasta

Pasta is one of the best comfort foods, especially when you know it’s cold outside. Come get some grab and go pasta at the Stockton Fire Company in Stockton, NJ. For $15 you can get a quart of homemade meatballs with sauce, a quart of homemade sauce and a pound of dry pasta. The pick-up night is this Friday, January 15 from 4-7 pm. You can pre-order your pasta online here or by calling 609.915.7567. Extra quarts of meatballs and sauce available for an additional cost.

We know this isn’t Bucks County, but it benefits the Stockton Fire Company and it sounds delicious!

2. Soup Sale

Saturday, Jan. 16, 9 am – 1 pm, Sellersville Volunteer Fire Department, 2 N. Main St., Sellersville, PA

The forecast is calling for cold weather and even the possibility of snow. So a soup sale should definitely be on your to-do list this weekend. On Saturday, January 16 from 9 am until 1 pm (or until sold out) you can get soup to pick up from the Sellersville Volunteer Fire DepartmentThere are five varieties to choose from at only $5 a quart: chicken noodle, vegetable beef, country bean with ham and potato, vegetarian minestrone, and mushroom barley. Keep in mind, the last two sales sold out fast, so get there early!

3. Laphroaig Dinner

Sunday, Jan. 17, 7 pm, Yardley Inn, 82 East Afton Avenue, Yardley, PA

Laphroaig Whiskey

Every year, on the Sunday of Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday weekend, the Yardley Inn presents a whisky dinner (the idea being you have the next day to sleep it off). This year the star of the dinner is Laphroaig, an Islay single malt Scotch whisky, considered to be one of the most strongly flavored of all Scotch whiskies. It has a peaty or smoky flavor, perfect for cold winter nights by the fire.

On Saturday, January 16 at 7 pm the Yardley Inn will serve a dinner with each course paired with a different Laphroaig whisky. To start, you’ll have Humboldt Fog cheese, burnt honey, oat crumble, orange puree, served with a 10 year whisky. Next course is Lamb pastrami, biscuit, garlic & toasted chile, cress & sorrel, served with a Quarter cask whisky. Then, pork belly tacos, Seville orange & guava adobo, served with a Triple wood whisky. Followed by slow roasted duck breast, caramelized grapefruit, Kyoto carrot puree, served with an 18 year whisky. Finally you’ll have, hazelnut Horchata crème brulee with a 10 year cask strength whisky. The dinner is $90 and visit their website to make reservations.

Read about the Yardley Inn’s whisky dinner last year here. It was awesome.

4. Sunday Breakfast

Sunday, Jan. 17, 8 am – 12 pm, Riegelsville Fire Company, 333 Delaware Road, Riegelsville, PA
