Fulper Family Farmstead Adventure Camp

“A day in the country is worth a month in the city.” – unknown

Fulper Family Farmstead’s Farmstead Adventure Camp summer camp program is the epitome of this quote.

For the last 9 years, the Fulpers have opened their barn doors to introduce children to life on a real dairy farm, throwing in some fun for good measure. Children who attend will learn where milk and dairy products come from and witness daily farm chores. They’ll get to watch a cow give birth, milk a cow, and even care for their own calf, learning how to wash, clip and properly handle them. The last day of the camp includes a show during which each child will get to proudly present the calf they’ve cared for while their families look on.

It’s not all about the business of farming, though. The kids will also get to cool down on what Breanna Fulper calls “the ultimate slip ‘n’ slide,” plus hayrides, water games, scavenger hunts, relay races, dairy jeopardy, obstacle courses, making homemade ice cream, milking a cow, making homemade milk paint for crafts, meeting the dairy princess and more, all while snacking on the Fulper Family Farmstead’s own farm fresh snacks.

The farm’s fourth generation, Robert II and Fred Fulper, believe on-farm education is crucial for the future of agriculture in New Jersey; most people today are far removed from their agricultural ancestry and have never milked a cow.

The weekly day camps run from July through mid-August at Fulper Farms in Lambertville, New Jersey.
