Farmers Market Report: June 29, 2016

Bucks County farmers markets and farm stores are now bursting with local produce, fruit, flowers and more. With the exception of Friday (much-needed rain), this coming week’s weather is perfect for wandering around Bucks County and picking up some fresh food.

The big news this week? BLUEBERRIES. Solebury Orchard starting selling them last Saturday (they also have pick-your-own). Manoff Market Gardens, also in Solebury, has their first blueberry crop this year. They will also be carrying organically grown blueberries from a neighboring farm in New Jersey.

Shady Brook Farm has blueberries too. Pick some up at the store or PYO on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday via wagon rides from the market. Cost is $3 per person, berries are $2.99 per lb.
