It has been a great year for Bucks County folks craving local and organic food. Last September, Organnon’s Natural Market opened their doors in Wrightstown. If you haven’t been there, stop by. It’s a beautiful store stocking only organic food – produce, grocery items, beauty items and all types of food.
The other big news is that the Doylestown Food Co-op has opened their store in Doylestown, right on State Street. It is open to the public but if you are a member of the co-op, you get a discount and special deals (see their website for information on becoming a member). I visited the store for the first time yesterday and it is beautiful, full of delicious, local food. You’ll find many organic items, but also a lot of items sourced from local producers (from within a 100 mile radius). The co-op is intent on sourcing as much product as possible from our local foodshed.
The co-op is at 29 West State Street. Their current store hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 11 am to 7 pm; Friday from 11 am to 8 pm; Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm; and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. The grand opening is planned for February 8th.
