Fisherman’s Mark celebrates 30th anniversary October 2nd

Fisherman's Mark Food Pantry

On October 2, 2011 Fisherman’s Mark, a community-centered nonprofit organization, will celebrate its 30th Anniversary with a fundraiser at Hortulus Farm in Wrightstown, PA. Fisherman’s Mark helps families put food on their tables, overcome personal or medical hardships, care for children, and while also advocating for those who need support.

For thirty years, Fisherman’s Mark has served the community as a whole, particularly those of low and moderate income. The name “Fisherman’s Mark” comes from Saint Andrew, a fisherman who brought people to a safe haven. It also stems from the belief of the founding board that each person leaves a mark where they live, play and work.

There will be live Big Band music featuring Doylestown Heat, and The Luckiest Guys in the World (Jazz Trio), tours of the gardens, and culinary delights by Caffe Galleria, City Market, Dish Catering, Emily’s Café & Catering, Hamilton Grill Room, Holly Hedge, Jamie Hollander Gourmet Foods, and Pineville Tavern.

To showcase recent work in adding fresh (often local!) food and nutritional education to our services, this will also be a Farm Fresh Party featuring local produce from Blue Moon Acres, Fred Slack Farm, Milk House Farm, Manoff Market Garden and None Such Farm. Seasonal cocktails, locally crafted brews from Yards Brewing Co., Round Guys Brewing Co. and River Horse Brewery, and wines from Unionville Vineyard, will be served. A wonderful abundance of food and beverages to please all!

Hortulus Farm is at 60 Thompson Mill Road in Wrightstown, PA. Admission is $75 per person. Reservations can be made at fishermansmark.org, or in person at the Fisherman’s Mark office, 89 N. Main Street, Lambertville, NJ. They can also be reached at 609.397.0194.
