I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. We had good turkey and all the fixings (including my favorite, Macque Choux). Even though Thanksgiving is over there is still plenty of food stuff going on in Bucks and nearby.
WoodsEdge Wools Farm is hosting their annual Thanksgiving on the Farm Indoor Slow Food Market. In addition to touring the 90 acre preserved farm with its alpacas, you can wander through a 20,000 square foot indoor Event Barn where area farmers will offer artisanal food products and fiber goods, including warm alpaca products. Offerings will include Jersey’s Best Beef and Grass Fed Yak meat, produce, cheeses, eggs, baked goods, apples and pears, wine, honey, olive oil and vinaigrettes dressings, jams and jellies all from certified local kitchens and area farmers. Get a jump on your holiday shopping!
On Saturday Fred’s Breakfast in New Hope will hold their 4th Annual Corn Hole Tournament. What, pray tell, is a Corn Hole Tournament, you ask? Well, it’s sort of like a bean bag toss. The tournament is held on The Landing patio, next door to Fred’s. Registration begins at 1:00 and the games begin at 2:30, running til 5-ish pm.
Come out on Thursday evening for The American Farm Family to Factory, a program examining how we raise animals for food. There will be a panel discussion with area animal farmers and professors from Del Val. The event takes place at Delaware Valley College in the Feldman Agriculture Building, Room 113 and begins at 7 pm. The event is co-sponsored by the college and the Bucks County Foodshed Alliance.
