Bucks Food Calendar: November 1, 2013

Blue Moon Acres_Pennington_fieldWhat with losing power all this morning, I’m a little behind on this week’s calendar post. No video this week! You’ll just have to imagine…

Blue Moon Acres in Pennington is celebrating fall with a Food Festival tomorrow, Saturday, from 11 am to 4 pm. The Pennington farm – and its market – started just a couple  years ago, a spin-off from their microgreens farm in Buckingham. There will be delicious fall dishes made with Blue Moon’s and other local farm’s produce thanks to chef Jon Spivak from Chive Café, along with live music, hayrides, face painting, pony rides, and a costume contest with prizes at 3pm. For more information, click here.

Olive Oil etc fustisOlive Oil Etc. is moving – but not too far. The olive oil and specialty food store in the Main Street Marketplace in Doylestown is moving into bigger digs in the marketplace. Join the grand re-opening on Friday (today) and Saturday. There will be cooking demonstrations, tastings of wine, chocolate, cheese, local honey, and, of course, olive oil and balsamic vinegars.

Lots of community meals going on this weekend at firehouses and churches. On Saturday afternoon, there is the Roast Beef and Ham Dinner at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Pleasant Valley, the annual Pork & Sauerkraut Dinner at the Riegelsville Fire Company, and a Roast Beef Dinner at the Presbyterian Church of Milford (NJ). All take place from 4 pm to 7 pm. On Sunday, Trinity Episcopal Church in Buckingham will hold their Free Community Dinner from 2 – 4 pm.

Fall backAnd don’t forget – turn back the clocks this weekend!
