If you are coming off a long and busy Mother’s Day weekend, take time to slow down this week with a few recurring locals events, like a four-course spring menu, wine dinner, and some of the best wings in Bucks County.

Cookies and Coloring. By now, you probably know that adult coloring is very trendy. If you haven’t, head to the Warminster Township Free Library for an evening of coloring and de-stressing. The library will provide the coloring sheets, colored pencils, cookies, and music. Bring your best coloring skills and a treat if you want to share with the group. No registration is required, and it is a free event.

My Year of Meats

My year of meats. Everyone is welcome to join a book discussion with the Doylestown Food Co-op members this Tuesday, May 10 starting at 6:15 pm at the Doylestown Book Shop. This week’s discussion is on the book My Year of Meats: A Novel by Ruth Ozeki, a book about two women brought together by love, agriculture, and motherhood, and how the protagonist uncovers some truth about a hormone called DES. The book discussions are every second Tuesday of the month.  Feel free to bring an optional snack to share.

Hamilton's Grill Room

Delicious dishes. Hamilton’s Grill Room has a new “Tastes of Spring” menu available throughout the week. It’s a four-course prix fixe seasonal menu with a sampling of smaller plates. The menu is available Sunday through Thursday, and from 5 – 6:30 pm on Fridays.

Wings and things. There are always options for good wings in Bucks County. This Wednesday, May 11, try Wings & Yuengs at the Wycombe Publick House, for half price wings all night from 4 – 10 pm, and $2.50 Yuengling drafts and bottles. There’s also wings at The Raven, where you can enjoy $6 all-you-can-eat wings.

Also, the Pineville Tavern has their PVT wings, with a variety of flavors depending on your spice preference. Also, as a part of the restaurants new “happitizers” menu, Tuesdays you can get fried chicken wings from 5 – 7 pm. Finney’s Pub in Doylestown has more than 20 styles of wings, anywhere from super spicy to smooth and sweet wings. You can order 10 wings for yourself, or order 100 wings for a mid-week get-together. Then of course, there is Hickory Kitchen, where you can get five-whole smoked wings for $8.95 (add a side of their famous cornbread and make it a summery meal).

Check out a previous post of where you can get the best wings in upper Bucks.
