Corned beef and cabbage meal

crockpot stuffed with corned beef; Bucks County food events

Happy Monday! Only a few more days until St. Patrick’s Day, which means my crock pot is going to be stuffed to the brim with delicious, salty corned beef cabbage, potatoes, and carrots. And I’m picking up a case of Guinness, too.

The food we eat on Saint Patrick’s Day isn’t really an Ireland staple, but Irish immigrants opted for it since they were used to eating salt pork back home.

If you’ve never made this dish before, consider it this year, especially since there’s this blizzard coming through. Seems like a great excuse to make it early in the week; that way, you’ll have a hearty meal to enjoy after you shovel!

NOTE: Due to the expected weather, we suggest calling ahead before setting out for events at the beginning of the week. Who knows how many inches we’ll get!

Irish menu specials galore! In honor of Saint Patrick’s Day, restaurants are pushing out their Irish menu specials this week and into the weekend. So, start your week off by heading to Karlton’s Cafe in Quakertown for some Irish breakfast, lunch and dinner. They’re cooking up shamrock pancakes, Reuben omelettes, chocolate stout French toast, garlic stout burgers, and more! You’ll find the complete menu here.

Also Smoke ‘n Dudes is cooking up some St. Patrick’s Day food, but you need to call in advance in order to set aside some corned beef and cabbage. They have ham and cabbage with potatoes and ham and cabbage soup too. You can call 215.752.5500 to place your order.

Liberty Hall Pizza Irish pizza special ; Bucks County food eventsLiberty Hall March Madness. Liberty Hall Pizza is having a big March Madness and other shenanigans celebration this Tuesday, March 14. The evening will kick off at 6:30 pm with Bucks County entertainer Dwayne Dunlevy, who is returning to the Back Room of the restaurant to entertain diners.

Irish Pizza: Chris will debut an Irish-themed pizza consisting of corned beef, roasted cabbage and Gruyère cheese with a Dijon mustard aioli. The pizza is available March 14-19.
