Bucks Food Calendar: June 22, 2015

It’s officially summer, folks, and that means long days, a slower pace, and, of course, great food! This week, we’ve got pies for a good cause, classes to help you figure out what to do with all that produce you bought in your summer excitement, and an ode to Paris. Enjoy!

pies-for-pupsBuy a pie for the fourth of July, and help a pup, with Lulu’s Rescue Pies for Pups. Support Lulu’s Rescue by buying a made-to-order pie. Each pie serves 10 and the flavors to choose from are traditional apple, apple caramel, pecan, and low-sugar berry.  Orders need to be in by Friday, June 26, with pick up on July 2 – 3 in New Hope or Doylestown. They’re even offering free delivery within a 20 mile radius of New Hope for orders of 3 or more pies. Click here to place your order.

farm-to-jar-stockton-marketGet cooking, the old way, at the Stockton Market with one of their Summer Preserving Classes, taught by Farm to Jars. The next one is this Wednesday, June 24 between 6 and 8 pm, and you’ll learn to make Blueberry Lavender Honey Jam (seriously, that sounds delicious…). [Learn more about Marian Bolum and Farm to Jars at our post here.]

paris-in-the-village-logoTake a trip to Paris… okay, really, just a trip to Peddler’s Village. For the first time ever, Peddler’s Village is paying homage to the city of lights with Paris in the Village: A French Wine & Food Fest that will run from Thursday, June 25 until Sunday, June 28. On Thursday night (June 25), the festival kicks off with a French Wine Dinner in the Cock ‘n Bull Garden Room at 7pm. $75 per person, inclusive. Reservations are required, call 215.794.4051.
