There is so much to do on the weekends in Bucks County that we’ve decided that the top events deserve their own post. If you’re reading this and wondering where Friday, Saturday, and Sunday went, they’re getting the V.I.D. (Very Important Day) treatment tomorrow (Thursday, April 30)!

Thursday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday all have events worth mentioning, though, so without further ado:

Thursday, April 30. Dining Out for Life, sponsored by FACT Bucks County, takes place at a whole bunch of area restaurants. 33% of proceeds from your purchases will go to local AIDS/HIV service organizations. For a full list of participating organizations, click here. Thursday night is also the Spring Fling Tasting Dinner at Honey Restaurant in Doylestown.

Monday, May 4. Learn how to prepare traditional mexican dishes with your girlfriends at Cinco de Mayo Cooking Class sponsored by Sisters U at Pasqualina’s in Blooming Glen. BYOB.

Tuesday, May 5. CINCO DE MAYO! Some ways to celebrate: Cinco de Vino at Old York Cellars in Ringoes, NJ from 12 – 5 pm and a Cinco de Mayo Party at Mojito Cuba Caribe in New Hope, PA from 8 pm to midnight. Other fun events on Tuesday include the Guest Piazzolo Series at Liberty Hall Pizza in Lambertville, NJ from 5 – 9 pm (featuring the catering company Poor Farm Food) and a Cheese Class at Brick Farm Market in Hopewell, NJ.

Wednesday, May 6. Learn to make jam at Blue Moon Acres’ Jammin’ in the Kitchen Workshop from 6 – 8 pm, and how to Use Herbs in Your Kitchen, brought to you by the Bucks County Foodshed Alliance at the Newtown Township Community Room from 7 – 9 pm (to reserve your spot, call Newtown Township at 215.968.2800, x239).

Radishes from Blooming Glen Farm at the Wrightstown Farmers MarketHere’s what you’ll find at area farmers’ markets: Baby head lettuce, spinach, bok choy, dandelion, endive, romaine, mini romaine, spring mix, sorrel, watercress, mustard greens, arugula, kale, Tuscan kale, Swiss chard, radishes, scallions, sweet pea shoots, spring garlic, spring onions, ramps, onions, many varieties of mushrooms, potatoes, turnips, fresh herbs including cilantro, thyme and lemon thyme. Plus vegetable and herb starts, flowering bedding plants and more.

Most markets will also have eggs from free-range chickens, grass-fed and pastured meats, preserves, specialty foods, baked goods like breads, cakes, cookies and pastries, cheese and yogurt, cider and juice, sauces locally roasted coffee, and interesting crafts from local artisans.
