Cinco de Mayo is this Friday, May 5th, and although it seems like it’s all about the tacos, the music, the margaritas — it’s much more. Cinco de Mayo is really a day that celebrates the defeat of the French army during the Battle of Puebla in Mexico on May 5, 1862. Use Cinco de Mayo 2017 as a chance to educate yourself, support authentic local Mexican businesses, and celebrate responsibly.
Now that you’ve had your history lesson, let’s talk food! This weekend there will be free burritos, a tequila tasting, the return of everyone’s favorite wine-down event, the reopening of a farmers market, and so many opportunities to try new food.
Events are listed in chronological order
