Remember early in the week when we said it looked like there was a food event drought? Well, that drought is over. There are at least seven great things happening this weekend. Pick up some fresh produce or cruise down the Delaware River while sipping cocktails. Drink beer for a good cause, and indulge in some steak specials. Summer in Bucks County isn’t showing any signs of stopping!
Events are listed in chronological order
1. Steak Special at the Pineville Tavern
Friday, July 29 through Sunday, July 31, The Pineville Tavern, Route 413, Pineville, PA
The Pineville Tavern recently gained recognition from Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best of Philly” award, so the restaurant is celebrating with $25 steak specials this weekend. All of their steaks are cut fresh from the Haring Brothers butcher shop (just north of Doylestown).
Diners can choose from the following: a 14 ounce hand-carved prime rib; a 22 ounce t-bone steak; steak frites; or a NY strip. Diners can add two sides to their steak, and dress up their steaks with sauces like béarnaise, Maître d’ Butter, and Au Poivre. Cream of crab soup is available a la carte. The $25 steak special is also available every Wednesday night, but it will only be available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for this weekend only.
2. Pulp Café and Juice Bar Grand Re-Opening
Calling all vegetarians! This Saturday, July 30, Pulp Cafe & Juice Bar in Frenchtown, NJ will reopen with new business owners Cody Hofstetter, Lori Hofstetter, and Melvyn Threatt-Peters.

Saturday, July 30, The Market at DelVal, 2100 Lower State Rd., Doylestown, PA
If you have kids (or you are just one of those adults who’s a kid at heart), The Market at DelVal has something special planned for you. Delaware Valley University has tons of PokéStops and gyms to battle, so The Market is hosting a farm and campus safari wagon ride to and from the campus so you can catch Pokémon. Entry is $3 per person and children 12 and under need to have a guardian with them.
But wait, where’s the food? The Market has plenty of summer items stocked and ready for you. Locally grown corn and beans are ready, and pick-your-own raspberries and blackberries are coming soon. DelVal’s Creamery serves Uncle Dave’s homemade ice cream so you can get a cone or two. Or, feel free to drop the kids off and pick up some gourmet cheese and crackers or gourmet items from Stonewall Kitchen and Rothschild. Then, eat it out on the lawn while you wait for the Pokémon trainers to return!
