4 things you gotta do in Bucks this weekend (Oct 2-4)

Looking at the forecast to see what you can do this weekend? The weather changes all the time but one thing stays consistent and that is that there is always something going on in Bucks County to make sure you are well fed—rain or shine.

1. Dine Around the Manor

Friday Oct 2, 5:30 – 9 pm, Pennsbury Manor, 400 Pennsbury Memorial Road, Morrisville, PA

Pennsbury Manor

This Friday, take a stroll around the Pennsbury Manor, a reconstruction of William Penn’s home along the Delaware River. Toast to the well-known Quaker and leader with a special “William Penn Libation,” along with hors d’oeuvres served on the front lawn of the Manor House. Dine in the back courtyard by lantern light, and listen to festive music while you eat. You will be able to enjoy the 17th century craft demonstrations as you explore the 43-acre country estate. End the evening with a silent and live auction and a birthday cake to celebrate William Penn’s birthday.

The event benefits The Pennsbury Society and educational programs at Pennsbury Manor. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased by calling 215.946.0400 or www.etix.com.

2. Wine Concert Series

Friday, Oct 2, 6 – 9 pm, The Market at Delval2100 Lower State Road, Doylestown, PA

Rose Bank Wines

Besides A-Day, the Wine Concert Series at The Market (at Delaware Valley University) is another favorite neighborhood event. The whole family can come to relax on the lawn (weather permitting – let’s hope for no rain) and enjoy great live entertainment, while sampling wine from the local Rose Bank Winery. It’s recommended you come hungry as their deli and kitchen is open until 8 pm for sandwiches, salads, and desserts (we recommend the pulled pork and homemade potato chips). There’s crackers, cheeses, chips and other goodies available in The Market. Wine is available for purchase by the glass or bottle. Ryan Shubert will be performing on this Friday. Also, the DelVal Creamery is open for the season, and there’s an inflatable attraction for the kids. Free admission.

3. Kegs & Corks for Cancer Festival

This event is perfect for craft beer enthusiasts too.  A limited sampling of Westvleteren XII beer, considered the “rarest beer in the world,” will be part of the evening, and there will be a Westvleteren XII beer raffle (1st prize 12 bottles and 2nd prize 6 bottles) and silent auction. A professional photographer will offer a one-hour session including instruction and hands-on experience. Then you will enjoy a tasting of Crossing Vineyards award-winning wines paired with cheeses, cured meats and chocolates (then maybe you can take what you learn and snap some pictures of what you’re drinking). The cost is $45 per person and a reservation is necessary. BYOC (bring your own camera) and call 215.493.6500, ext. 19, or buy online here.

Have a great weekend!
